Quote of the day: “I just sort of follow my bliss, so to speak, and then I see where that takes me.“ —Zooey Deschanel
It’s been a week of highs and lows for me. I spent much of the week stumbling around in a funk. Fortunately, the funk is gone and I’m ending the week on a high. Here is my list of things to be grateful for this week:
- Saturday, we attended the Habitat for Humanity house dedication for a Somali family that I am Habitat Family Neighborhood Partner with for the next year. The charming house above is going to be a wonderful home to a great family who have been through civil war, refugee camps, and moving to a new country to create a new life. I am thankful to be a part of their journey and look forward to a great friendship with them. Knowing their story makes me grateful for so many blessings I often take for granted.
- I spent a lot of time playing and making things this week just for fun. I made journal collage pages, two cloth headbands, and some really neat photo mandalas. I am so grateful for time to play and make things.
- I had a wonderful get-together with four women friends Wednesday night. Even though we all brought our troubles and frustrations with us, we all went home with lighter hearts because of shared time together. I am so grateful for good friends.
- Spring has sprung! Green things popping out all over! Ducks and geese in the pond behind our house raising a holy chorus! I love this time of year!
Linking up to Liv Lane’s Little Bliss List again today. Thanks Liv, for scattering joy and causing me to count my blessings each week!

I love get togethers with women friends – it perked up the whole week.
