Quote of the day: “I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.” – Jack London
Food, food, food! This is the season for get-togethers and breaking bread with friends and family. I’ve had a wonderfully busy week of book club get-together, a quiet meal with a friend, and tonight a potluck with several of my favorite women friends.
Since I’m focusing on eating healthy food these days and have eliminated gluten from my diet, I find that I’m gravitating towards soups and salads. Yesterday I made a lovely lentil brown rice soup and baked apples to take to share with a friend who is in the middle of chemo treatments. Tonight the rest of the big pot of lentil brown rice soup will be shared with a circle of women friends. I’m loving the freedom I have to pursue my passion (photography) and to also cook and spend time with friends. What a lovely rhythm I’ve found in my life.
Don’t you just love being around kids? Their energy and glow shines out. This little girl was out at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum this week. Even though the photo is blurred, I like it because you can see the presence and passion and energy that the little girl has. Just look at her charging ahead of her mom. My goal is to re-capture that presence and passion and energy and live with it each day! Here’s wishing you many glowing days this holiday season!
