Quote of the day: “Always keep your mind as bright and clear as the vast sky, the great ocean, and the highest peak, empty of all thoughts. Always keep your body filled with light and heat. Fill yourself with the power of wisdom and enlightenment.” – Morihei Ueshiba

Prairie Sky

Today, I made photos at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.  The prairie spoke to me today, with vast blue sky above, golden flowers reaching for the sky and tall grasses swaying in the breeze.  I’ve been so drawn to bright yellow flowers against bright blue sky lately.  So cheerful.  So simple.  So me right now.

September is one of my favorite months.  We’ve had a string of perfect days since mid-August and I am soaking up every moment and basking in the sunshine.  I overheard someone saying that she was sad because it was fall, and that meant winter wasn’t far away.  I am often sad to leave summer behind too but I love the changing of the seasons.  I say savor today and let tomorrow worry about itself.

The flowers at the Arboretum today were spectacular.  Bright oranges, yellows and reds splashing colors everywhere.  Butterflies, bees, and dragonflies decorated the flowers and delighted me with their beauty and grace.  I am so impressed with the designers who create the wonderful gardens at the Landscape Arboretum.  Each season brings beauty and grace of a different kind.  Whatever the season is, it’s always my favorite when it’s happening.

Here are my favorites photos from today:
