snowstorm

Yesterday was the biggest snowstorm we’ve had in 2 years (according to the weather guy on television). It was amazing to see how quickly the snow accumulated. We had about 10 inches of new snow this morning when we got up.

The falling snow yesterday was so beautiful! I sat and watched the snow fall for the longest time.

For awhile huge snowflakes made the world look like we were living inside a snow globe.

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”
Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

I made these photographs through the window, of our back yard during the height of the big fluffy snowflakes.
