Ordinary Miracles
I’m feeling my weekly quota of gratitude multiply as I practice gratitude daily. Every day, at the end of the day, I write three things I am grateful for. Sometimes I’m grateful for people or things or experiences. Sometimes I’m thankful for a feeling.
It doesn’t matter what I’m grateful for. It’s the practice of noticing all the good things and ordinary miracles that surround me that enriches my life so.

Here is my list for the week in a meandering sort of way…
Last weekend I visited family in Iowa. I especially enjoyed seeing my cousin, Carol, who is one of the kindest, wisest, and most loving people I know. I have no sisters, but she is my soul sister. Even though we hadn’t talked for several years, visiting with her was like getting together with an old friend that I see every day.
Much gratitude for cousins/friends/soul sisters who brighten and enrich my life!
I went out to Wolsfeld woods for a long hike this week. In fact, I was able to hike longer than I’ve been able to hike for many years! It was so beautiful and I am so grateful to be able to hike in the woods without pain!

Today I made portraits of a friend who loves to dress up in costumes. She had some wonderful ideas about making portraits of herself in costume, along with photos of her ancestors. It was a very interesting afternoon of new photo ideas and photo play. Much gratitude for imaginative friends!
Roots
The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum has its fall “scarecrow” displays scattered throughout the gardens. There are so many fun, imaginative creations! I am so grateful for imagination and creativity.

Finally, I am grateful for my feet that take me on daily walks and wherever I want to go.
