Quote of the day: “There are random moments – tossing a salad, coming up the driveway to the house, ironing the seams flat on a quilt square, standing at the kitchen window and looking out at the delphiniums, hearing a burst of laughter from one of my children’s rooms – when I feel a wavelike rush of joy. This is my true religion: arbitrary moments of of nearly painful happiness for a life I feel privileged to lead.”

Gratitude for the amazingness of the colors and clouds in the sky.

My gratitude list this week is a list of little joys that sneak up on me and bring me a wave of bliss and joy that makes me feel so blessed.

Gratitude for sitting in the shade on a sultry summer evening.

Gratitude for folk music outdoors at MN Landscape Arboretum last night – sweet sounds, sweet scents in the air, sweet breezes on my skin

Gratitude for the endless curiosity and explorations of children

Gratitude for summer flowers (yuccas in bloom at MN Landscape Arboretum)

Gratitude for visitations of hawks. This amazing hawk likes to hang around the MN Landscape Arboretum posing for visitors in all of it’s magnificent hawk-ness. The staff at the Arboretum have nicknamed her Matilda.

Joy in the sight and scents of summer lilies in bloom… Mmmmm!

Joy in soaking in the simple beauty and peace of a waterfall surrounded by moss-covered rocks.
